FINDING AND SECURING TENANTS
You have a place to rent and now your need to find a tenant. This is the point where things can start to go terribly wrong. This course will explore ways to avoid getting yourself in trouble. Topics covered include the basics of Fair Housing, the Tenant Screening Process, types of Rental Agreements, and the additional forms that should be used to complete a comprehensive rental contract.
Speaker: Violet Wilson
Violet Wilson is the "V" in V & R Management. Violet is Oregon licensed and works full-time as a property manager. Violet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Science from San Jose State University and a Masters of Science in Education from Western Oregon University. She was a high school teacher for over 34 years in California and Oregon schools.
V & R Management, LLC has operated since 1990, specializing in single family home rentals but they have managed all types of properties.
Violet is a past vice president of Oregon Rental Housing Association, current chair of the ORHA Education Committee, and serves on the ORHA Legislative Action Committee. Since 2008, she has taught property management classes for local and the state housing provider associations. In addition, she has volunteered to teach classes to help tenants become better residents.
