Confused about what a landlord's rights are under a Federal Drug Law that makes all marijuana illegal and yet State Laws allows "legal" medical and recreational use?

This presentation will review the status of both federal and states' laws that affect this issue, the parameters that an Oregon Landlord has under these laws, and actions landlords may take. In addition, ORHA forms pertaining to marijuana will be reviewed.

Violet Wilson is the "V" in V & R Management. Violet is Oregon licensed and works full-time as a property manager. Violet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Science from San Jose State University and a Masters of Science in Education from Western Oregon University. She was a high school teacher for over 36 years in California and Oregon schools.

V & R Management, LLC has operated since 1990, specializing in single-family home rentals but they have managed all types of properties.

Violet is a past vice president of the Oregon Rental Housing Association, current chair of the ORHA Education Committee, and serves on the ORHA Legislative Action Committee. Since 2008, she has taught property management classes for local and state housing provider associations. In addition, she has volunteered to teach classes to help tenants become better residents.
